Uttarakhand Vocational Training Center in village Ghansali, (Tehri Garhwal)

To promote the job opportunities in the rural part of Uttarakhand, a vocational training centre was started in village Ghansali of district Tehri Garhwal on 28 Sept 2009.

The objective is to initiate skill development activities for rural youth who live in this village and around. The name of the centre is UTTARAKHAND VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTER (UVTC). UVTC is running courses which are accreditated from State Council of Vocational Training, Government of Uttarakahand.

Presently UVTC is running two courses – a) Dress Making for girls and women; b) Computer Operator and Programming Assistant (COPA).

Accreditation of Courses in UVTC

Presently UVTC is acreditated with State Council of Vocational Training, Govt. Of Uttarakhand. The UVTC is providing one year ITI course in – Dress Making and COPA( Computer Operator cum Programming Assistant).

Infrastructure at UVTC Ghansali

1) UVTC building area is 4200 Sq. ft. which has well spacious classes and workshop with all modern type of equipments and tool.
2) The total land in the UVTC premises is about 2000 Square Meters.
3) The Computer workshop is comprised of – 12 numbers of 19"TFT monitors with latest peripheral gadgets. The lab is comprised of powerful server with HDD -500 GB, Ram – 4 GB and strong power backup support systems. Along with such infrastructure UVTC contains a very good library of Computer books.
4) The Dress Making workshop is comprised of – 16 stitching machines, some of them are sophisticated and modern Japanese JUKI models. Apart of them workshop contains – interlock/ over-lock machines and full infrastructure of modern garment house.
